Counterfeit fragrances are everywhere — some estimates put fakes at 10% of all perfume sold online. Here's exactly how we verify every bottle at YNF Deals, and how you can double-check your own collection.
1. Find the batch code
Every legitimate bottle carries a batch code — usually 4–8 characters, printed or engraved on the base of the bottle and on the bottom of the box. The two must match. No batch code, or a code on the box that doesn't match the glass? Walk away.
2. Check the packaging seams
Authentic boxes use crisp, even cellophane with a neatly folded seam, dense card stock, and perfectly aligned printing. Fakes almost always give themselves away with loose film, fuzzy fonts, or color that's slightly off from the brand's standard.
3. Weigh the experience
A real eau de parfum opens with the correct top notes and evolves over hours. A fake usually smells close for twenty minutes, then collapses. If a scent disappears in under an hour, something is wrong.
Our guarantee
Every bottle we sell is sourced direct from the brand or an authorized distributor and batch-code verified before it ships. If you ever doubt a bottle from us, email [email protected] with a photo of the batch code — we'll check it against the manufacturer's records or refund you in full.
